Mechanical engineering experts, master of engineering and doctor of science, distinguished professor of Zhejiang University. Mainly engaged in mechanical design and digital manufacturing research, and put forward the combination of batch and custom mass customization design technology, engineering transition state, fuzzy state, random state model and digital prototype integrated simulation technology, combination of numerical and geometric complicated equipment multi-unit association, multi-level configuration and parameter matching analysis technology, won 7 national awards, including national science and technology progress second prize 4 items, the national outstanding teaching achievements first prize 1 item, second prize 2 items, awarded provincial scientific and technological progress first prize seven items; Put into use the proposed technique in software, develop and access 12 computer software copyright which have successful applications in a number of manufacturing enterprises. Published 8 books, 142 papers in SCI/EI.


In 2007, was elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Shuyou Zhang (张树有)

Shuyou Zhang, PhD, professor, doctoral supervisor, administer of Institute of Design Engineering, assistant director of Computer Graphics Professional Committee for China Engineering Graphic Society, member of Product Digital Design Professional Committee, chairman of Zhejiang Engineering Graphic Society, engaged in the research work for the technology of product digital design, technology of design and stimulation for complex equipments, engineering and computer graphics and the key technology for enterprise informatization, the visiting scholar of the University of California at Davis, rewarded as the outstanding youth team of Zhejiang Training Young Scientist Foundation, obtained the first level key funding of Zhejiang Province ‘151 Talent Project’, honored as ‘Aged and Young Experts with Outstanding Contributions in Zhejiang Province’, gain the State allowance.

As a project principal, Dr. Zhang undertook one National Natural Science Foundation project, two National Sci-Tech Support Plan subjects, three National 863 Plan projects, 6 Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects, 6 Zhejiang Key Scientific and Technological projects, over 20 cooperation and development programs for enterprises. He has published over 100 academic papers in which over 70 papers are collected in SCI/EI journals. He got one paper of 100 the most excellent papers in China Science journals, and three excellent papers of Zhejiang Natural Science. He has one academic book (coauthor) published in center press and two textbooks (one of chief editors) aimed at the 21st century. it has been awarded the Second Prize of National Science & Technology Progress, 4 first Prizes of Zhejiang Provincial and Ministry of Education Science & Technology Progress. He also got the national outstanding teaching achievements prize (once First Class and twice Second Class).

Zili Wang (王自立)

PhD, Associate Researcher. Founder and Director of the ZJU-Tube Lab

Principle Investigator

He is mainly engaged in the research of design and manufacturing methods of metal plastic forming equipment, multidisciplinary coupled equipment shape optimization design, and design theory for the integration of equipment and process. As the person in charge, he presided over more than ten projects including the National Natural Science Foundation (Youth, General) Project, the National Key R&D Program Sub-Project, the Zhejiang Province Pioneer Leading Goose Project, the Zhejiang Province Basic Public Welfare Project, and the Enterprise Horizontal Project. He has published more than 80 SCI papers, including more than 40 as the first author/corresponding author, and has authorized 2 US invention patents, 1 Japanese invention patent, and more than 30 Chinese invention patents. The research results have been successfully applied in the design and manufacturing of major national equipment such as difficult-to-process metal pipe forming equipment, high-end CNC machine tools, 1,000-ton injection molding equipment, and ultra-high-speed escalators, and won 1 provincial and ministerial first prize and 3 second prizes. He serves as a member of the Computer Graphics Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Graphics, a young editorial board member of the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing and Special Equipment, a guest editor of the Applied Science Special Issue "AI-Enhanced Metal/Alloy Forming", and a reviewer for more than 20 international journals including IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Materials & Design, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, Future Generation Computer Systems, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and won the 2023 FGCS Outstanding Reviewer Award.
